I refer to the above mentioned subject in an article written by our compatriot Mr. Frank Sowah, chairman of Ghanaian resident in Swaziland in which he wrote a rejoinder that the Ghanaian High Commissioner has been refused audience in Swaziland.
Though Mr. Obimpeh who wrote the article as an individual Ghanaian resident in Swaziland and not representing the official position of the Association of Ghanaians in Swaziland, all the comments about what Mr. Lawrence Azumah, head of consular services (who represented the Hon. Lee Ocran, Ghana High Commissioner to South Africa at the event) was totally true.
In the first place Mr. Lawrence Azumah did say the Ghanaian High Commissioner has been refused audience in Swaziland, and also HE AZUMAH also revealed that he was with two diplomatic paasport at the boarder gate ,thus the old one and the new biometric diplomatic passport all of them not expired, whilst the passport photo on the old biometric passport was nine years older ,this brought abouth clearification and checks .
Secondly Mr. Azumah also mentioned that by April 2015 the hand written and machine readable passports will be phased out and that Ghanaians will be expected to be using the biometric passports. This he said is now the position of the government of Ghana in compliances of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)’s decision so all member countries (including Ghana who is now a signatory to that said treaty.
Finally, Frank Sowah must not throw dust into the eyes of the public from adoma manzini Job Openings Ghana
