Ghanaians In Bremen Gather To Remember Alhaji Aliu Mahama

Ghanaians in the Northern German State of Bremen will come together on Saturday November 24 to mourn, pray and say a final farewell to His Excellency Alhaji Aliu Mahama former Vice President of the Republic of Ghana.
The program which is being organised by the Bremen Chapter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is scheduled to take place at Utbremer strasse 132 starting from 19 hours CET and will be led in prayers by Mallam Lukman Hakim Chief Imam of Bremen.
According to Mrs Nana Gyamfua, NPP Organiser in Bremen, it is important for Ghanaians to recognise and appreciate the role and sacrifices of the Late Vice President in the socio-economic advancement of Ghana
The program, she explained is not only to mourn the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama but to remember and celebrate his achievements and his invaluable contributions towards the country’s development.
She noted that in addition to being a decent, honest and disciplined leader the late Vice President was a patriot who saw himself first and foremost as a Ghanaian and did not allow his religious or ethnic background to clout his actions and judgment
Nana Gyamfua stressed that Alhaji Aliu Mahama’s examplory leadership should serve as important lessons for all Ghanaians especially those aspiring to lead this country that our tribal and ethnic differences should be a source of strength and not a cause for discord adding “This is of vital importance particularly at a time when ethnocentric politics is rearing its ugly head in our political discourse”
The NPP Organiser emphasized that political leaders should be judged and elected based on personal conduct, competence, experience and what one can offer in terms of policies and programs and not on ethnic or tribal affiliations
She called on all Ghanaians to help immortalise the memory of the late Vice President by eschewing all tribal and ethnic tendencies because all Ghanaians are one people with a common destiny and said “Our greatest tribute is to always remember that our late father was a distinguished statesman who embodied the unity and identity of our country.
