The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has been given relief items of new equipment and supplies worth $35,000 from a non- profitable organization; Asanteman Association of Chicago and Midwest (AACM), USA following some concerns by management of the second largest health facility in the country
The Association operating under Illinois Tax Code 501 (c)(3) as party of members' commitment earlier promised to adopt the A2 maternity ward at the facility after refurbishing it in 2016 to upkeeping of the ward's administration.
The latest gesture by the Association is the presentation of several equipment and disposal items to the KATH authorities to ensure delivery of quality healthcare.
Mr. Victor Sakyi- Ntow Boafo, the Association's Project Coordinator at a short ceremony at KATH presented following; 25 Manual Crank Beds, 25 Waterproof Mattresses ,25 Bedside Lockers, 25 IV Poles, 25 Memory, Foam Pillows, 25 Bedsheets/Pillow Cades, 2 Omron 5-Series and BP Monitor to management.
The Chief Executive of KATH, Dr. Oheneba Owusu-Danso on behalf of management received other disposal surgical supplies such as; Pillow Cases (1,000 pcs), Under Pants (950 pcs), Face Mask/Shield (1,000 pcs), Non Woven Face Mask (500 pcs), Plastic Aprons (500 pcs) and Hand Sanitizer Tubes (200 pcs).
The Chief Executive also thanked all the members of the Asanteman Association for
for receiving 3 Office Desks, 10 Office Chairs1 Nasco Full-Size Refrigerator,1 Nasco 30L Microwave Oven, 1 Wooden Double-Door for security & safety of patients for KATH staff.
Dr. Oheneba Owusu-Danso also disclosed to reporters KATH plans to launch an endowment fund which will be management by it trustees as away of retooling to transform the Hospital into a medical centre of excellent.
