Ghanaians in Ireland Prayers Answered at Last

Ghanaians in Ireland Prayers Answered At last as Unity Link Comes to Ireland Unity Link Financial Services Limited of the United Kingdom is opening a branch in the Republic of Ireland in September. It is well over ten years now since the Ghanaian Community in the Republic of Ireland began a search for a money transfer company that would make it possible for them to remit money to their families and friends in Ghana without any of the problems experienced in the past, such as monies either not being received, or not being received on time. So we started praying that, a reputable company that knows the needs of Ghanaians would come to our rescue. God is so good and in January this year, some friends spoke to the well known United Kingdom’s only Financial Services Registered Ghanaian owned Money transfer Company Unity Link Financial Services Limited and they got in touch with AGPI to explore the possibility of providing their services to us. I can say with pride that, our cries and yearnings have been listened to and very soon we shall cry no more because Unity Link Financial Services Limited has chosen to open a branch in Ireland which should be operational in early September 2010. The writer has met with almost all the top management of the company and they are very proud that for once, the Ghanaian Community in Ireland would not have to use other agencies; whose services the Ghanaian community often say has cost them dearly both in terms of time and other resources.

Unity Link Financial Services Limited provides an instant service which means that as soon as the money is deposited into any of their Branches (AIB) in the Republic of Ireland; it is remitted to Ghana Commercial Bank in Ghana. What makes their services unique is the fact that the beneficiaries do not have to travel a long distance to their own branch in Ghana, all they need to do is to go to any Ghana Commercial bank and they can receive their money instantly. It is the type of service you phone your family member or friend at home to wait at the bank as you make the remittance. A gentleman who could not disguise his joy at hearing the news about a Unity Link presence in Ireland said to me “My brother, I am very happy that Unity Link is coming to Ireland because when I was in the UK, I used their services”. He said “last year, I remitted €1000 to my sister in Ghana who had to travel to Kumasi from our village about 70 miles only for the bank (name withheld) to tell her the money had not arrived. She had to go back and come again in three day’s time, eventually, when she got the money it was snatched away by Pickpockets ”.We have a Commercial Bank in our village so she would not have travelled to Kumasi in the first place he said..

Unity Link Financial Services Limited, Marketing Manager tells me that, they can also open Ghana Commercial Bank Accounts in Ghana for interested customers. The Ghanaian Community in Ireland I spoke to are all full of joy that at long last they would have a reputable, reliable, trustworthy and cost effective way of remitting money to Ghana.

Unity Link Financial Services Limited, we can’t wait for your arrival. We are ready, so hurry up and rescue us.
