Ghanaians in court for false passports

Trinidad & Tobago -- Two Ghanaian men are to appear before a Chaguanas magistrate tomorrow to answer charges of escaping from police custody and being in possession of false passports.

The men aged 30 and 35 were held by central police officers during a raid at the weekend by a number of police officers attached to the division.

The two Ghanaians were among 66 people who were arrested for various infringements of the law.

One of the Ghanaians had escaped custody recently while he was detained at Piarco International Airport. The other had in his possession two passports, one from the Republic of Ghana and another from the United Kingdom. A husband and wife were also arrested during the raid when police found 80 grammes of cocaine in their possession.
