Invest in your country’ - Owusu-Ankomah tells diaspora community

Ghana’s High Commissioner to UK and Ireland, Papa Owusu-Ankomah has called on Ghanaians in the diaspora to consider investing in the Ghanaian economy, especially in long-term projects.

He stated that the government recognises the transformational power of the Diaspora, which has made other countries become economic powerhouses.

In a goodwill message to Ghanaians, H.E Owusu Ankomah said the diaspora should be mobilised in order to contribute and serve as an important source of knowledge required to move the country forward.

The UK High Commissioner established that the visit by Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, for instance, signifies the level of interest the United Kingdom has in the country thereby urging Ghanaians in the diaspora to develop a similar interest in their motherland.

“2018 saw the deepening of the bilateral economic relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom. It also saw the visit by the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall signifies the level of confidence the UK has in the leadership of Ghana. I’m urging Ghanaians in the diaspora to follow suit and invest back in the country”. He asserted



Touching further on the fundamentals of the economy, the High Commissioner indicated that the Government’s economic management team has performed creditably well to the admiration of both local and international bodies as the Ghanaian economy has currently stabilised.
