Greenich, CT -- It is with a heavy heart that we report the sudden death of “Chief” John Owusu of Kumasi Academy and Amass fame on May 12th 2011. News reaching 3G Media states that John Owusu went to work on Wednesday May 11th 2011 and worked his full shift at the Food Chain Company in Greenwich Connecticut where he was a manager. He complained to a nephew (Percy) at work that he did not feel well and an ambulance was called as he became incoherent.
He was taken to the Greenwich Hospital ER at around 4:20pm. His wife was informed and she got to the ER around 5:45pm and spoke to her husband who informed her he was a little better despite the fact that the ER had not started any treatment on him. His wife stated to 3G that she had to literary put up a fight with the ER staff to put a saline drip on her husband.
After a series of tests it was determined that John Owusu’s platelets were low and therefore needed blood. John Owusu will never receive the needed transfusion and will depart into eternity (8 hours after he was admitted to the ER) at 12:27am on Thursday, May 12th 2011.
John Owusu was well known for his athletic prowess in the 100 and 200 meters at Kumasi Academy and “Amass” in the late 70’s.Those of us who knew him very well will miss his generosity and sense of humor.
John is survived by his wife Juliet Ababio Owusu and five children; Kofi (15), Kealah (10), Donalia (19) Jamal (23) in the United States and Yaw Owusu in Ghana. For any further information, Please contact the following:
