Juaben citizens in US present dental machine

The New Juaben Citizens Association of New England in the US has presented a dental X-ray machine estimated at $40,000 to the Koforidua Regional Hospital.

Mr Emmanuel A. Okrah, Vice-President of the Association, presented the equipment on behalf of the association at a ceremony at Koforidua on Thursday.

He said the machine was donated to the Association by the Family Health Center of Massachusetts in the US for presentation to the Hospital and assured the Hospital of more support.

Receiving the machine on behalf of the hospital, Dr Kwame Anim Boamah, acting Medical Director of the Hospital, expressed the appreciation of the people of New Juaben and the management of the Hospital.

He said early this year the Association made similar presentation to the Hospital and assured that the machine would be put to good use for the benefit of all people of New Juaben in particular and the Eastern Region in general.

Dr Cardinal Newton, Dental Surgeon and the Deputy Medical Director of the Hospital, said only three medical facilities in the country have such X-ray machine and that it would contribute in the diagnosis of dental cases.
