Ghana’s highlife sensation, Kojo Antwi put up one of his best performances ever in Chicago. His electrifying show heralded the beginning of arguably the biggest Ghanaian outdoor event in North America, Ghanafest 2018.

In its 30th year, Ghanafest has proved to be not only the largest gathering for Ghanaians in North America but for other Africans and people from all over the world. Established by the Ghana Council of Chicago, it was established to bring Ghanaians together and have fun as well as network with each other.

“This year's Ghanafest is unique because of the 30th milestone and we wanted to give the world nothing but the best,” says Ruben Hadzid, former Ghana Council Chairman and head of operations for this year's Ghanafest.

Kojo Antwi performed from his wide range of songs.

The Adiepena hitmaker played hit after hit but the crowd at Chicago’s packed Cottage Grove couldn't get enough of the maestro. The audience loved his performance and sang along.

Touched by their love for him, the musician brought some of his fans on stage to sing along with him. Most of them posted the rare opportunity on their social media handles.

Abena Asantewaa Krobea, a die-hard fan was one of the privileged few who got on stage. She posted on Facebook “Kojo ne Abena. Kojo ne Adiepena. Ghana's #1. You rock.” #ImKojoAntwified #ImAdiepena.

Isaak Atiso also posted a video on Facebook and wrote “Chicago was lit ????”

MC for the night and one of Chicago’s most sort after, Nana Yaw Marfo hosted the event with class and brought the audience to stitches with his amazing jokes.

Sensational Chicago based Ghanaian songstress Sista Ella also gave a good account of herself by giving the audience a rendition of her repertoire.

The fun at Ghanafest continues today with thousands of people anticipated to attend.

Bisa Kdei will be in action. The Mansa hitmaker is expected to wow the fans with his collection of powerful music.

Gospel sensation Daughters of Glorious Jesus will also be in action today to give the audience a rendition of their inspirational songs that have endeared them to the hearts of Ghanaians for three decades.
