Kotoko & Hearts To Rock London

THE tension and drama that normally characterizes matches between the two most glamorous clubs in the country, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak will be relived in London next month if all goes according to plan.

July 27th, 2008 has been earmarked as the day when the two giants will lock horns in a special friendly that will bring the Ghanaian community in the UK together to witness the likes of Eric Bekoe and Kofi Abanga in action.

The organizers told 90 Minutes that the match is being organized to give an opportunity to Ghanaians living in the United Kingdom a taste of what they have been missing at home between these two combatants whose rivalry knows no bounds. Negotiations between the parties are on-going and it is believed both teams have agreed in principle to partake in the match pending successful negotiations.

The two teams have played twice this season with both matches ending in a draw so this will be a welcome opportunity for each side to try to win the match and thus win the bragging rights. Both teams are experiencing contrasting fortunes at the moment with Accra Hearts of Oak deep in turmoil at the moment whilst Asante Kotoko are having one of their best seasons in recent memory.
