Kwahu citizens abroad presented beds to Kwahu Government Hospital

Atibie (E/R), Feb. 3, GNA - Members of the Okwahu United Association of the United States and Canada, had presented ten adjustable hospital beds, worth 70 million cedis to the Kwahu Government Hospital at Atibie on Friday.

The Association solicited the beds from various hospitals and health institutions in the USA and Canada to assist the hospital in the Kwahu Traditional Area.

Presenting the beds, Mr Kwame Nyarko, President of the USA branch of the Association said, the gesture was part of the association's annual contributions towards the health and educational sectors of the area over the past 15 years.

He said the Association had continued to contribute its quota towards enhancing the living standards of the people and urged the hospital to use the beds to improve the health needs of the people. Receiving the beds on behalf of the hospital, the Kwahu South District Chief Executive, Nana Onwona Asante, commended the Association for the assistance and urged other Kwahu citizens and associations at home and abroad to emulate the Association's contribution towards the development of the area.

The Medical Superintendent In-charge of the hospital, Dr. Isaac Osabutey, thanked the Association for the assistance and assured that the beds would be put to effective use to improve the health needs of the people.
