Let’s pray for Akufo-Addo – Amb. Zita Okaikoi

Ghana’s ambassador to the Republic of Czech H.E. Zita Okaikoi has called on Ghanaians to ignore an “obvious desperate” Nana Akufo-Addo and rather pray for him so he can find it in his heart of hearts to speak the truth.

Responding to comments allegedly made by the twice defeated flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who is also in the race to once again lead his party into the 2016 general elections Nana Akufo-Addo, that “Everything NDC touches turns to dust. Amb. Zita said, “These are comments that could only come from an obvious desperate man who in his attempt to become the president of Ghana at all cost will stop at nothing, say all kinds of things in an attempt to win the hearts and mind of Ghanaians.

But I tell you what, the good people of Ghana are smart, wiser and know better”. She quizzed if Nana Akufo-Addo and his advisors are indeed living in Ghana or somewhere else? She said even if Nana Akufo-Addo cannot see the numerous projects ongoing across the length and breadth of the country “he should one of these days as a keep fit exercise walk from his Nima residence to Kwame Nkrumah Circle to see if the fly over, the ongoing construction and the road works there are dusts as he claims or concrete projects aimed at improving and transforming the lives of Ghanaians”?

Further she said “the 200 schools project we promised is ongoing, the sugar factory project has just taken off, the Tamale International airport project is ongoing, the Cape Coast Kotokuraba market project is ongoing, the Kumasi Asafo interchange project is almost complete, the Eastern Corridor Road is taking shape and taking off soon, and these are projects that people can see in their communities.

Schools are being built, polyclinics are being built, we have provided good quality drinking water to many communities, the needy child policy has taken off, the Ridge hospital project is ongoing, tell me frankly, will you say these projects are dust? So for someone to be talking like Akufo-Addo did, nothing can explain what informed or motivated him apart from extreme desperation for power.

She said the NDC government is doing everything possible to improve upon the lives of Ghanaians and especially to bridge the development and infrastructure gap between the cities and the rural areas. “The NDC believes in a holistic approach to development and the deprived communities must be helped. Just travel across the country and see, we have expanded for example electricity coverage from 54 to 78% percent within Six (6) years when all NPP which he Akufo-Addo was a key part of could only managed to improve upon what the NDC left in 2001 by 9% in eight (8) years. – from 45 to 54%. We are on course to achieve the over 90% coverage our able president promised the good people of Ghana. If all these projects to Akufo-Addo are dust, then I can only say, he needs our prayers for God to help him to see properly and speak the truth”.
