Professor John Evans Atta Mills is currently in Washington and has since his arrival, been holding in-house meetings with executives and core members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Maryland and Virginia. A statement from the office of Prof. Atta Mills from Virginia said, discussions have centered mainly on fashioning out ways and means to move the campaign activities of the party notches higher. The key concerns of the NDC executives, the statement said, have bordered mainly on how the party is preparing itself to make sure that on the voting day, the right polling agents are put in place to police the election because working hard during the electioneering period is one thing, and policing the elections is also another.
The NDC flagbearer continues to assure the party faithfuls in the United States that nothing is being left to chance after what happened in 2004 and that every possible loophole is being blocked to make sure that victory is not stolen from the NDC in 2008 the way it was stolen in 2004. On their part, the Maryland and Virginia caucuses have promised to put whatever resources (human, material and financial) at the disposal of Prof. Atta Mills and the NDC to make sure that victory is secured. The Presidential candidate was particularly commended for his innovative and inspiring house-to-house campaign as most of them have been monitoring with keen interest developements back home and are certain that with the way the campaign is being handled this time around, they are sure that victory will come the way of the party. The NDC Presidential candidate is expected to be in boston over the weekend as part of his two week working visit to certain parts of the United States.
