NDC-Atlanta Cautions Individuals Using Its Name

... For Appointments In Accra
The Executives and the entire membership of NDC-Atlanta, USA wish to extend our heartfelt congratulations to H.E John Dramani Mahama for been sworn in as President of Ghana, and also for breaking the ground for the government business to take off with his recent appointments.

Meanwhile our attention have been drawn to the fact that certain unsuspecting individuals have been going about in Ghana using the name of NDC-Atlanta to influence the decision and the direction for political appointments currently underway. We wish to state categorically that, those individuals are not part of us.

The Atlanta Chapter of NDC has supported and contributed to the efforts of NDC before and after Prof. Mills took over the leadership of Ghana in 2009. We supported the “Better Ghana Agenda” since its inception. During the just ended election, we organized “OPERATION PAPER CLIP” where over 500 telephone calls were made to Ghana, specifically in Accra and the Central regions, calling on people to vote for President John Mahama and NDC Parliamentarians. Some of the people insulted us, saying in Akan, that “mote Atlanta, na mopos3 y3n to ma John Mahama; moy3 nkwaseafuo paa”. These were some of the insults that we got during “OPERATION PAPER CLIP”. None of those parading the corridors of power for appointment did not make any effort to support this activity even when we advertized for people to join us for this cause. Now they want to affiliate themselves with NDC-Atlanta for favors. We urge the leadership of our party to ignore them and rather look into our Chapter and appoint qualified and competent people who can help advance the “Better Ghana Agenda”. We have worked hard for the party and we need to be recognized and rewarded rather than those liars who claim to be members of NDC-Atlanta. We are by this article calling on those individuals to desist from using the name of NDC Atlanta for any personal gains. We also wish to state that while NDC-Atlanta are more than willing to support any known dedicated member who aspires to any position in the country, we equally respect the prerogative of the President to make any of such appointment and will always abide by that decision.
