NDC – Massachusetts Congratulates President John Dramani Mahama, NDC and all Ghanaians
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) – Massachusetts, an affiliate of NDC-USA in the United States congratulates President Mahama, the NDC party and all Ghanaians for their electoral victory occasioned by the landmark electoral petition judgment by the supreme court of Ghana..
While we appreciate NPP for resorting to the court after their electoral defeat, we also acknowledge that the process has undoubtedly put a drain on cumulative national productivity, time, and economic resources. That notwithstanding, we are so much delighted that the rule of law has at long last prevailed and President Mahama and the NDC party have been vindicated. The victory and by extension, the authentication of President Mahama’s presidency signal two things: the continuation of the “better Ghana agenda” and glimpses of an NDC resounding victory in the 2016 general election.
As patriotic Ghanaians, we wish to urge our party and government, under the able leadership of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to without delay, judiciously execute and deliver the better Ghana agenda in a manner that will be seen and felt by all Ghanaians regardless of their political, religious, or ethnic backgrounds. After all, that is the purpose and reason why we have been given the mandate. We are also mindful of the fact that a result oriented first four year term will propel another four- year electoral victory for President Mahama and the NDC. Therefore, let’s put the court case behind us, cut short the honeymoon and go back to work for a economically stronger and a better Ghana.
We also want to extend our appreciation and admiration to the nine member panel of the Supreme Court, particularly, Justice William Atuguba for upholding and defending the authority of the sovereign state of Ghana by dispensing justice without fear or favor. Kudos to our awesome Lords. By exhibiting the independence of the judiciary in such an unprecedented manner, you and of course all the stakeholders, and Ghanaians in general have once again demonstrated to the world that indeed Ghana is the beacon of democracy in Africa and the world at large.
We also appreciate the way and manner our compatriots back home conducted themselves before, during and after the petition proceedings and judgment and we congratulate them all. We urge that Ghanaians remain united in spite of our political differences and not allow political differences to divide us and tear us apart as a people. It is our fervent prayer and hope that our beloved country Ghana will forever enjoy total peace, political stability, and socio- economic development.
Long live President John Dramani Mahama
Long live NDC,
Long live Ghana
