Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Party in Massachusetts have been commended for being resolute, steadfast and above all loyal to the great AKATAMANSO family.
A member of the council of elders of the Chapter and a prominent NDC member, Dr. Cadman Mills made the recommendation at the weekend. The United States based Ghanaian Economist, was in attendance during a family get-together program (barbecue) organized by NDC – Massachusetts as part of their Summer Outdoor activities here in Worcester, MA. The highly patronized event, which was held on Saturday July 21 2007, attracted not only NDC Members and sympathizers but also other Ghanaians residents in the US and non Ghanaians from various backgrounds.
In a brief welcome address, the Chairman of NDC – Massachusetts Mr. Appiah Twumasi Ankrah intimated that the Chapter is collaborating with other NDC affiliated organizations in North America, especially, the Committee to elect Professor John Evans Atta-Mills as the President of Ghana to draw up series of activities aimed at broadening the support base of the party not only in Massachusetts but also throughout the whole of New England. Throughout the program of activities for the day, NDC Members and sympathizers clad in NDC outfits took to the floor and danced joyously to the tunes of NDC songs as well as other Ghanaian and international lyrics. There were enough food and drinks to share as people were seen enjoying different kinds of Ghanaian and continental dishes. There were also intermittent shouts and responses to NDC slogans such as “EHEEJOH BODOO, EYEH ZU, EYEH ZA, EMEFA, MIA, MIA, MIA”.
According to an executive member of the chapter, hundreds of old and new NDC members and sympathizers have willingly registered to join the chapter.
