NDC –New York Branch set for Elections of New Executives

On Saturday, October 2, 2010, the NDC –NY/NJ branch will assemble to elect new executives to take over from its out-going executives who have served the party for a little of over two years. The election is expected to be very peaceful. At a meeting two weeks ago, the outgoing Chairperson, Dr. George Lamptey challenged candidates to unite their efforts in other to promote the good works of the National Democratic Congress. He mentioned that even though the NPP have championed a propaganda filled with lies, the Ghanaian community being rational would stick to the NDC’s rule rather than that of the corrupt NPP. Dr. Lamptey further called on the party leaders at both the National level and the Diaspora to work hard towards bridging any differences that exist within the party towards the 2012 election.
The outgoing treasurer, Alhaji Abass A. Adamu who is contesting for the position of the Chairperson of the branch is positive of recruiting more members for the party’s Chapter and re-defining the relationship of the branch with others individuals, other Chapters around the world and most importantly with the Headquarters in Ghana. He called for a continuous dialogue to finding solutions to the Ghanaian problems rather that instigating groups to destruct the developmental agenda to the Mills Administration, just as the NPP is doing.
Mr. Moses Kanduri, an aspirant for the position of the General Secretary also added that though the out-going executives have done a great job and beyond the expectations of many people, more is expected from the winners of the upcoming election to ensure that the party retains power in the 2012 election. Mr. Kanduri advised on Ghanaians to be patient for the Mills Administration to fix the bad situation that was created by the NPP. “Rome was not built in a day” hence it will be improper for Ghanaians to be anxious for changes in our individual economic circumstances overnight. He called on the on the party leadership across the world to come together and adopt clear-cut communication channels for its operations saying that, the parties branches oversees should be involved at many levels of the parties development.
The outgoing secretary Mr. Osborne K. Sam who is also the All USA branch secretary was commended for his endless efforts in running both the affairs of the New York branch and the All USA chapter effectively as well as transparently without fear or favor. Member aspiring for position were advised to follow his footsteps in other to achieve greater results for the NDC family.
Finally, Mr. Nii Amarh Hammond, the All-USA Youth Organizer is sure of victory in the 2012 election. However, he believes the victory would come once the party bridge the differences at all level. He called on the foot soldiers as well as members and leaders of the party to harmonized and forget all differences for the sake of implementing the better Ghana Agenda, which Ghanaians will be happy to enjoy its results.
