NDCVA Branch Sympathies with Rawlings and Family

We, the Members, Executives and the Patrons of NDC Virginia have received with great shock and utmost sadness the tragic and devastating fire outbreak of the residence of our beloved Former President of the Republic of Ghana and the Founder of the great National Democratic Congress (NDC), President Rawlings.

The NDC VA Branch wishes to register our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to His Excellencies, The Former President Flt. Jerry John Rawlings, His dear wife Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and their children on the tragic moment of the burning down of their residence at Ridge by fire at the wee hours of Sunday, February 14, 2010.

We are more saddened not only by the loss of personal properties but more importantly the volumes of more than 25 years of vivid historical records and photos of self-sacrifice and hard work destroyed. We are, however, thankful to the Almighty God that no physical harm or death had occurred to anyone.

Our prayers and thought are with you and pray that the Lord God will continue to protect you and your family and help you to deal with this tragic loss.
