NGO Leaders Needed

World Partners for Development (WPD) being a strong networking organization with other world-class NGOs across the globe received the following fellowship opportunity information from Meredith Newmark U.S. Program Manager of Atlas Corps, and want to share with Ghanaians in the NGO sector. Atlas Corps facilitates overseas fellowships for the best of the world's rising leaders. They volunteer at outstanding organizations addressing social issues and are enrolled in an ongoing training program. After 12 or 18 months, they return to their countries to work for at least one year (and usually their entire career) back in the nonprofit sector, sharing new skills, best practices, valuable experiences and a global network of changemakers. Visa Process: After being selected, candidates will go to the U.S. Embassy in their respective countries to apply for a J-1 visa. Atlas Corps will provide support in obtaining this visa. Some Atlas host organizations and partners are, Ashoka, Global Health Corps, Oxfam UK, and U.S. Peace Corps.

The notice: “Dear Philip Darko, I’m excited to announce that Atlas Corps is now offering fellowships three times a year. We are accepting applications year-round, but we strongly suggest that candidates apply by January 29 in order to be considered for the June 2012 class. Can you help us find some incredible nonprofit leaders by forwarding this announcement to your network?

Do you know any nonprofit leaders in your country, Ghana with experience in eHealth or mobile health, but we welcome applicants with Bachelors Degree of any background. We are looking forward to receiving some great applications for this year's Fellowship. We really appreciate your ongoing support.”

To have some knowledge on eHealth or Mobile Health, and also how to apply, visit www.wpdprojects.org then click on the Atlas application tab.
