NPP-Denmark wishes to congratulate Nana Akuffo Addo on his election as the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party for the 2016 general elections. We also congratulate the unsuccessful candidates, Mr Alan Kyeremanten and Hon. Addai Nimo as well as those who did not make the shortlist for putting up a good fight. The gracious manner in which they all conceded defeat and pledged their full and unflinching support for the winner, Nana Akuffo Addo is very commendable. We are particularly pleased with the peaceful and orderly manner the whole process went about. To this end, we thank the national executives for the great job in ensuring the peaceful conduct of the elections that has strengthened our democratic credentials to the admiration of many in the country and Africa as a whole. However, in the wake of the unreasonably high number of rejected ballots, it is our fervent hope that useful lessons will be learned from this exercise and any loopholes found be blocked or massive education done at the grassroots in time for the 2016 elections.
NPP-Denmark thus joins the numerous calls from the various stakeholders for party unity. The massive show of confidence in our elected flag bearer put a huge responsibility on him to lead the efforts at building a genuinely united and cohesive party. We believe, and just as he promised in his victory speech, he is more than up to task and will surely work hard to justify the huge confidence reposed in him by the rank and file of the party. The suffering of Ghanaians has become unbearable and we entreat all Patriots to make personal commitments towards persuasion and participation for victory in 2016 to alleviate the people from the inept NDC administration.
