NPP –Germany elects new officers

The one-day National Congress of the New Patriotic Party (NPP –Germany) has come to a successful end with the election of new officers to manage the party for the next four years.

Mr Alhassan Yakubu Tali a 46 year-old Investment Banker was elected Chairman and has Reverend Alex Acheampong as his Vice. Mr Kwaku Appiah was re-elected General Secretary and will be assisted by Mr Akwasi Opoku-Edusei. The position of the National Organiser went to Mr Kwaku Anane-Gyinde with Mr Omama Yeboah as his deputy.

Mrs Esther Nana Gyamfuah is the new Women’s organiser while Mrs Sandra Abrokwaa Lahmer becomes the deputy. Mr Clement Akomea Brako assumes the position of the Financial Secretary and would be ably assisted by Mr Felix Opoku
Other officers include the following; Mr Joe Louis Sakyi-Youth Organiser, Mr Norman Dzackah – Assistant Youth Organiser, Mr Alex Tuffour- Director of Communications, Mr Kyere-Diabour Ampofo- Deputy Director of Communications and Mr Kamal Ambassador-Nasara Coordinator
In his acceptance speech Mr Alhassan Tali expressed his gratitude to the three-member electoral commission for conduction a free, fair and transparent elections and hoped the electoral commission in Ghana would do likewise come 2016.

He noted that what NPP needs at this crucial moment is bury personal differences and forge ahead as a party united for the common purpose of winning the 2016 elections to salvage the country from the economic mess and the unprecedented level of corruption that has become the order of the day under the NDC government.

According to him Ghanaians will only give the NPP the mandate when the party demonstrates that unity of purpose and the readiness to govern adding “it is therefore imperative to close our ranks and work as one big family so as to dislodge the visionless NDC government from power”
Mr Tali admitted that the 2016 elections would not be easy but with proper planning it would not be an impossible task and has therefore instructed the newly-elected executives to submit their programmes with the next two weeks saying “the battle for 2016 begins today”
The congress which was well-organised was attended by all the local chapters of NPP- Germany as well as other external branches including NPP-UK, NPP-Belgium, NPP –The Hague, NPP-France and NPP-China.
The congress ended with a presentation of certificates to outgoing executive members, followed by a Dance in honour of the outgoing Chairman which ran into the early hours of Sunday morning
