Kwasi Agyeman Busia also speaking at the event told the audience of the missed opportunity by Ghana over the last three years with the NDC in government. According to him Ghanaians should not allow three more years under an incompetent Mills-led NDC administration.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who was the special guest speaker, bemoaned the fact that after 55 years of independence, Ghana is still struggling with the provision of basic services like water and sanitation and power to its citizens, problems many other countries resolved hundreds of years ago. According to him, Ghana needed a results oriented approach to solving basic economic problems and an Akufo-Addo led NPP was ready to build a globally competitive economy in Ghana. “There is therefore a need for a paradigm shift because we cannot continue doing things the same way and expect different results. The paradigm shift that Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP are seeking the mandate of Ghanaians to implement is one of focusing on solutions and results underpinned by a mindset change and the inculcation of a can-do spirit in Ghanaians” He told the audience.
