NPP USA Inc. Congratulatory Message to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice Presidential Nominee of NPP
The members of NPP USA Inc. congratulate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on being selected as the running mate of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. We believe Dr. Bawumia is an excellent choice from a deep, qualified and accomplished pool of potential running mates.
Dr. Bawumia comes to this new task with a proven, illustrious and distinguished professional record. His connection with NPP USA dates back to his early professional years when he taught economics at Baylor University . He distinguished himself as a scholar and researcher before responding to a call to duty at the Bank of Ghana. His accomplishments at the Bank are well documented and include being an architect of the highly successful HIPC program, the Millennium Challenge Account and the Currency Redenomination exercise. Dr Bawumia¢s integrity is impeccable and is a role model for the youth.
The 2008 elections will allow Ghanaians to choose between competing visions of our dear country. On one hand, is the NPP vision to move the country forward to a modern economy, with a prosperous middle class maximizing its potential and creativity in a land where the law rules. On the other hand, is the P/NDC vision to move the country backward to the pseudo-revolutionary days, characterized by imaginary class warfare resolved by violence in a land where man rules. We are certain that Dr. Bawumia¢s youthfulness, vitality, and policy orientation will be a significant asset in articulating and implementing the NPP vision.
Dr. Bawumia's youthfulness and solid background in monetary economics and international finance complement Nana Akufo-Addo's celebrated statesmanship and political sagacity. Undoubtedly, the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia ticket is a winning one that will modernize the Ghanaian economy, defend the cause of freedom and right, and make our nation truly great and strong.
Accordingly, we call on all NPP members to rally behind the formidable ticket and urge Ghanaians to give the ticket a one touch victory at the December polls.
