NPP-USA Rubbishes The Informer Newspaper

When one reads the Informer's caption "NDC Youth Storm Parliament," which appeared on Ghanaweb on January 25, 2012, one is led to think the wayward NDC foot soldiers have repeated their invasion of Parliament. You may recall during President Mills’ State of the Nation address in 2010, the NDC foot soldiers stormed Parliament and ransacked the reception area eating up all the food prepared for government officials and visiting dignitaries. Thus approaching the second anniversary, the Informer’s misleading headline raised eyebrows. But apparently there are some amateurs with limited reasoning at the helm of that piece of trash aka "NDC rented press" posing as a newspaper.

The story rather predicts a future Parliament populated by the likes of Samual Okudzeto Ablakwa, Fiifi Kwetey, Hannah Bissiw. Even more shockingly, the Informer posits that these three loose cannons would bring "intellect" to the august house. Yuk! Anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear know that these three in particular are perhaps the least educated, the least sophisticated, and the least polished people to have ascended to the levels of deputy minister. But then we are talking about the NDC and the Mills administration – qualified and polished intellectuals need not apply for positions.

Ironically, Honorable Kyei Mensah Bonsu, who has been criticized within his own party at times for being too nice as opposition leader, is said to be "uncouth" and that he uses "abusive language." Is the Informer referring to the same visionary legislator who called the STX deal into question and turned out to be prophetic because the STX deal indeed crashed, or is the NDC rented press talking about the principled leader who called for the resignation of Betty Mould Iddrisu a few days before the latter resigned?

Worse yet, is the piece of trash, aka "NDC rented press," awarding intellectual status to the Deputy Minister of ‘Misinformation’ who publicly denied a cabinet reshuffle two days before President Mills in fact reshuffled his cabinet? Someone needs to tell the fake editors at the Informer how repulsive it is to try and pull off a task as impossible as comparing Okudzeto Ablakwa to the Honorable Kyei Mensah Bonsu. It is like comparing Kofi Wayo to Kofi Anna just because they are both called ‘Kofi.’

Then again why are we surprised? After all, the Informer supports a party that believes black sheep should be reported as white cow, a presidential visit to a cancer hospital in New York should be spun as ‘working vacation,’ and a person who has never been a father to his only son should be marketed as "Father of All." Time is up for the NDC and its propaganda machinery. Lies and half-truths can get you so far. It is now time to call in the moving crew. January 2013 is just around the corner.
