NUGS-China calls mother union to order

Accra, Dec. 10, GNA - The National Union of Ghana Students - China branch, has expressed dismay about what it described as the in fighting among the leadership of the union.

A statement issued by Samuel Kwadwo Frimpong, NUGS- China President called on the National officers as well as the National Executive Committee to try as much as possible to resolve all their differences amicably. "We are appealing for unity among the executive and other student leaders. That is the only way to help resolve the numerous problems such as lack of accommodation, inadequate lecture halls, high school fees, etc. facing students in Ghana. Remember "when two elephants fight, it is the ground that suffers.

"We are also appealing to the "powers that be behind all this disturbances within the Union to stay away from students' activism. NUGS is not a political party and we are therefore appealing with them - if any, to leave the students alone and channel. resources to rather help in the betterment of the Ghanaian student.

"We hope that, no matter how serious the issue is, it will be resolved as soon as possible for us to have a united student front to help improve the lives of the students on the various campuses," the statement concluded.
