Nkoranza citizens abroad donate jerseys and footballs to schools

Nkoranza, (B/A) Feb. 11 GNA - Three citizens of Nkoranza based in Spain have jointly donated a set of jerseys and footballs valued at about 2.5 million cedis to the Seventh Day Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary Schools at Nkoranza to promote sporting activities in the schools.

The donors are John Mark Antoh, Kwame Danso and Kwaku Antwi. Mr. Kofi Nyarko Akonoba, a teacher in the school and a friend of the three presented the items on their behalf.

He said the donation was in appreciation of the cordial relationship between them and the schools, adding that they have planned to offer more assistance to the schools on their next visit to Ghana.

Madam Comfort Adjei, headmistress of the schools expressed gratitude for the donation and prayed for God's blessings and success for them so as to continue to offer further assistance to the other schools in the area. She urged other citizens of Nkoranza to emulate the example of the donors and advised the students to handle the items properly. The Reverend Kubi Asuamah Yeboah, District Assistant Director of Education in-charge of Finance and Administration expressed appreciation for the gesture adding that depicted their concern and commitment to the development of Nkoranza.

He called on the students to emulate the good intentions of the donors and offer voluntary services to their communities. The Reverend Minister called on the staff of the school to make good use of the items by training potential footballers to improve their skills to enable the schools to excel in sporting competitions.
