The North America Coordinating Council of the National Democratic Congress (NACC-NDC) joins both the NDC family worldwide and enlightened individuals in celebrating the magnificent NDC Flag Bearer triumph of Professor John Evans Atta Mills which we view as the precursor to his coming great victory in the 2008 national presidential elections. We have no doubt that the good Professor will be sworn in as President John Evans Atta Mills of the Republic of Ghana, come January 8, 2009. Beginning January 8, 2009, President Atta Mills would steer the course of Ghana on a more just and equitable path that would yield prosperity and opportunity for all.
NACC-NDC totally agrees with Professor Atta Mills? statement and call that the contest within the NDC is over and the time is ripe for cooperation and commitment from the other contestants, Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu and Mr. Eddie Annan to unite with him to prosecute the 2008 National Election. In unity lies strength and the victory of NDC in 2008 would be a victory for all.
NACC-NDC wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Dr Kwabena Adjei led NDC National Secretariat, NDC Parliamentary Caucus led by Hon Alban Bagbin, the Regional, District Constituency (both home and abroad) wings of our great party and the 1730 Delegates, for the valuable contributions they made towards the superlative success of our just ended National Congress 2006, a feat which has equally awed and become the envy of even our bitterest political opponents.
NACC-NDC says a big thank you to the Founder of NDC ex-President JJ Rawlings:
1. for disregarding the thuggish actions and wild unsubstantiated vituperations of disloyal and disgruntled erstwhile members of NDC, and thus diffusing their main purpose of diverting national attention from our recent contest, and
2. for maintaining his neutrality and legendary integrity by not siding with any of the four worthy NDC contestants at the just ended Flag Bearer ship race.
NACC-NDC recognizes the great sacrifices of our grassroots foot-soldiers whose tireless contributions and loyalty continue to give us so much hope for a brighter future for the NDC as we tackle together, the challenges of the December 2008 Elections. It is our conviction that the stout hearts and indomitable spirit of our grassroots foot-soldiers whose unalloyed loyalty and devotion would be the counter-balance to any pecuniary or incumbent advantages that our opponents may possess.
The NACC-NDC takes this opportunity to thank members of the press for the professional manner in which they conducted and reported activities of the NDC congress. We reserve special praise for Ghana Television (GTV) for their live Television transmission which showcased the transparent and democratic nature of our contest for the world to see.
NACC-NDC wishes to thank Ghanaians who irrespective of their party affiliations, prayed for a successful NDC congress. We urge Ghanaians to prayerfully be patient and wait for the commencement Prof. Atta Mills? National leadership of True Nationalism, Patriotism, Unity and Economic transformation of Ghana beginning in January 2009.
