Notre-Dame students sing and dance for Ghana

Collège Notre-Dame students are showing off their talents to help build a school in the West African nation of Ghana.

On May 20 at 7 p.m., the students will host their annual Le Bistro singing café, which will also feature silent auctions of student artwork. The main draw, though, are the musical compositions and dance numbers — a full evening of entertainment for $5.

Students will conduct original performances of hits by Francophone artists Céline Dion, Ariane Moffat, Dany Bédar and Les Respectables, all under the guidance of music teacher Renée Dupuis.

There is also a new addition to Le Bistro this year. Dance teacher Danika Brabant's talented crew will perform a medley of jazz, contemporary and hip-hop numbers. It's the first time the fundraiser has a dance portion since the school's first Le Bistro in 2006.

All proceeds will go to the school's Free the Children Committee to build a school in Ghana, West Africa.

Tickets can be purchased at the Collège Notre-Dame main office or at the doors prior to showtime.
