Nunoo-Mensah Is A Security Threat to Ghana: - NPP-UK.

Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah, the National Security Advisor with his unguided behaviour and reckless utterances are putting Ghana in serious security risk.
As revealed, the Security Advisor of the government of Ghana has been going around the world soliciting funds to build a personal business fortune. This became known when the President of Ghana John Mahama announced it on a platform, the Brigadier used to insult the entire workforce of Ghana as "Every Tom, Dick and Harry gets up and is calling for a strike". Adding, “if Ghanaian workforce don’t want the job in the country, Ghana is not a police state, they should take your passports and get out of the country” (Ghana).
In the face of this outrageous pronouncement by the National Security Advisor, and attracting heavy national condemnations from ordinary Ghanaians, the senile security advisor has arrogantly stuck to his gun even as far as disrespectfully stating on BBC that he owes no Ghanaian any apology for his tactless utterance.
Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah, a former Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces and member of the Provisional National Defence Council government which overthrew the elected legitimate government of Dr. Hilla Limann in 1981, had the nerve to describe Ghanaians workforce incessant strikes in the country as “indiscipline”. A man who was involved in over throwing a legitimate government in Ghana is now talking about Ghanaians not being disciplined

Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah, whose sense of loyalty is questionable, and therefore poses a threat to the country, was appointed a member of the PNDC on January 1982. He however resigned in November 1982 over some awful differences with Mr Rawlings. This man then pretended to have joined the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He even became the campaign manager for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's bid for nomination in 1998. This same Nunoo-Mensah later defected again from the NPP to the NDC and became instrumental campaign strategist in 2008 for NDC Flagbearer J.E.A Mills, and was appointed the National Security Advisor for President Mills and Mahama today. The question is, does this man "Nunoo-Mensah" really understand the meaning of the word loyalty or "Discipline?”
When some Organised Criminals in Ghana planned to empty the state's coffers, even up to the point of the President giving countless warnings not to pay such moneys to those fraudsters, our National Security Advisor was nowhere to advice our President and the government on this organised financial fraud on the nation, which as a security adviser would have fallen under his ambit.
Again, despite numerous warnings since 2010 by the international money-laundering watchdog, the Financial Action Task Force, Ghana was finally blacklisted for money laundering on Friday, 17 February 2012. Ghana has been indicted as one of the countries flouting recommendations for the fight against money-laundering and financing terrorism despite on-going steps by the Financial Intelligence Centre, FIC to tackle the problem. Brig. Nunoo-Mensah the Security Advisor is not concerned about this serious national security breach in Ghana.
Instead, the so called Security advisor is said to be soliciting funds from other sovereign states in the name of the government with the President's approval. Clearly, Nunoo-Mensah, the National Security Advisor has not only been a security threat to the country, but also not fit for purpose. The refusal of the government to condemn or indeed sack this Security Advisor speaks volumes of the government’s commitment to Ghanaians and its view of democracy, workers' rights and Ghana's security. We therefore urge the government to take immediate steps to address this national security threats.
