Obomeng-Kwahu Association Of New York Embarks Of Developmental Projects

The support for developmental projects by community-based Associations in diaspora has become very necessary and also the main objective of all philanthropic Associations. Many of such Associations have made significant contributions to support their counterparts in Ghana. As a matter of urgency, Education has always become the main project for many of these Associations. It will be called that Obomengman Association in recent years embarked on Educational Scholarship scheme intended to help bright and needy students at Obomeng-Kwahu.

At their end-of- year fundraiser, the Chairman of Obomengman Development Committee of the Association, Mr. Michael Essuman assured the invited guest and the general membership of the their efforts to embark on serious developmental projects in the year 2012. It is very important we look-back to address some of the developmental problems in the community where we were raised; Mr. Essuman stated. The occasion was also used for the installation of Obaahemaa Dadewaa I, the queen mother of Obomengman who added a grand traditional value to the function. Nana Obaahemaa Dedewaa I, thanked the gathering and asked for their support at all times.

The President of the Association, Mr. Essirifi restated the commitment of the Association to fulfill all the development agenda this year and called on citizens of Obomeng-Kwahu in the tri-state to participate in fundraising. We can never pretend and turn a blind eye on the problems facing Obomeng and other part of Kwahu Traditional Area, he emphasized. The Chairman of the occasion appealed for financial support and urged participants to help to enable the Association complete the proposed projects at Obomeng-Kwahu.

Other invited Associations were Nkwatia-Kwahu Association, Obo-Kwahu Association, Pepease Kyidom Mma Kuo and the President of Kwahuman Association of New York, Mr. Frederick Ansong-Dwamena.
