As the Progressive People's Party (PPP) gets ready for its formal, public outdooring next month, we in the Diaspora want to state our position. We wish to encourage all Ghanaians living in the Diaspora to embrace the noble idea that wealth and status should not be an entitlement to rule.
We recognize that our country and our economy are strongest when they provide opportunity for all Ghanaians—when we grow our country from the bottom up.
Progressive People's Party (PPP) stands for an abiding faith in the judgment of hardworking Ghanaian families, a commitment to helping the excluded, the disenfranchised, and the poor and strengthens the nation. Progressive People's Party (PPP) believes that each of us has an obligation to each other, to our neighbours and our communities. Each of us has a role to play in creating our future. We call on Ghanaians in the Diaspora to embrace the Progressive People's Party (PPP).
Progressive People's Party (PPP) seeks to change the political climate in Ghana by facilitating a shift from hyper-partisanship to post-partisanship through an open dialogue between politicians and their constituents. In service of that goal, the core values that the Progressive People's Party (PPP) will embody:
FAIRNESS
Progressive People's Party will ensure that our systems, including our political, judicial, and economic systems have basic ground rules that apply to everyone in the same way without exceptions, regardless of how much money they have or how much influence they wield.
TRANSPARENCY
Progressive People's Party will constitute an open, honest and completely transparent society because the people have the right to know everything that their government is doing.
INCLUSION
Progressive People's Party will ensure that all citizens will be included in our political process, by voting, running for and holding office, and being heard on issues and initiatives. If everyone cannot participate our government is not truly serving the people.
PUBLIC GOOD
Progressive People's Party believes that our representatives must carry out the will of all those who elect them, not just those who fund their campaigns or lobby the loudest. We will make sure that the people will have the ability to recall or override the work of representatives who are not carrying out their will.
If you are a Ghanaian living in the Diaspora and you want to be part of the Progressive People's Party in liberating Ghana, get in touch.
