Funeral and burial arrangements for the late Pastor Fred Kwame Aning will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Pastor Aning, reportedly, died of a heart-attack about a month ago at the age of 50. He was the Presiding Minister of the Power of Faith Ministry, Cincinnati, Ohio, at the time of his death.
Born in Ghana on November 9, 1964, to Professor Ben Akosah Aning, late, of the University of Ghana's Institute of African Studies, and Mrs. Mary Aning, a homemaker, Pastor Aning attended local Ghanaian schools, including the University of Ghana's Staff-Village Primary and Middle Schools, before departing for the United States of America in 1990.
In Ghana, the Aning family resided at several locations, including the Kwabenya campus of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) and Little Legon. Mrs. Mary Aning, now in her late 80s, hails from the Oyoko royal family of Asante-Kokofu, while her late husband, Professor Ben Akosah Aning, was born at Asante-Akyem Dampong.
Having attended several high schools in Accra, Ghana, Pastor Aning would later obtain the Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Baltimore's Morgan State University. In 1994, he met his African-American wife, Mrs. Sheila Aning, and shortly thereafter the couple relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, where Pastor Aning, after working at several jobs, while preparing himself for his Christian religious calling, was named Presiding Minister of the Power of Faith Ministry.
Aside from his wife, Sheila, Pastor Fred Kwame Aning is also survived by a teenage son, Mr. Brandon Akosah Aning, and 9 other siblings residentially spread across Ghana, Europe, Canada and the United States of America.
Funeral rites will be observed from 8am to 11 am on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Higher Grounds Ministries, Cincinnati, Ohio; and then again, at the same venue on the same day from 8:30pm to 1:30 pm. A Thanksgiving Service will also be held on Saturday, February 22, 2015, from 11am to 1:30pm at the Atrium Hotel and Conference Center, 30 Tri-County Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio.
