President John Mahama in New York

There is a saying in Akan that goes “s3 w’on p3 wed ah wo p3 di3n” meaning if you don’t like this, what else do you like? I went to the Town hall meeting on September 27th held by President Mahama when he came to New York. I saw an intelligent, presentable, humble and very peaceful leader. He spoke about the economy, education, investors etc. One sees a leader who has a vision for his country.

I participated in the NDC gathering the following day, after the Town Hall meeting where the President addressed members to the party. The key word that stuck in my mind was when he told the members not to indulge in character assassination of the opponents. This is what we call democracy!

My fellow Ghanaians, beside our country being a democratic country, we are also seen as a peace and loving country. Let me share this with you all, on the day of the town hall meeting, a co-worker told me something very impressive she said, she has never seen a country, whereby its citizens love each other dearly like Ghana. She said whenever a Ghanaian refers a fellow Ghanaian for employment, he or she introduces the person as either his sister or her brother. She then said, come to find out later, they do not have any relationship whatsoever, they do not come from the same region nor speak the same dialect, and “that is the beauty about Ghanaians”, she said.

My fellow Ghanaians, vote for President Mahama, he is a leader who will bring us together. This is a leader whose opponents talk negative about him, every now and then, but yet still, he continues to preach peace and tolerance to his people. This is the love my co-worker saw in Ghanaians so please let us maintain it and vote for President John Mahama.

President John Mahama has all the qualities of a President, INTELLIGENT, PRESENTABLE, VERY HUMBLE AND MUCH MORE VERY PEACEFUL (s3 w’on p3 wed ah wo p3 dien). This is what I noticed and saw in our leader. VOTE FOR PRESIDENT MAHAMA FOR A BETTER GHANA.
