At the grand espace of the Holy Trinity Cathedral Church in Brussels,Mr Abraham Tuffour Peprah, President of Baako Ankonam Association in Belgium celebrated his 50th birthday and first of its kind on the 26th March 2005. It was a unique event that attracted both the youth and old in the Community as reports Mr.topstory.
Prayers were said by Rev.Isaac Kingsly Mensah an ordained Priest by the Holy Trinity Pro- Cathedral Church of God based in Brussels. The Ghanaian born Reverend thanked God and the people for responding to this memorable occasion and also appealed to them to take it serious when comes to the duties of God.
Reading a history of commendation about the President of Baako Ankonam Association at his birthday party on the 26th March 2005, the Chairman of the Association Mr. Agyaaku Acheampong took the opportunity to thank Mr. Abraham Tuffour Peprah for having been unopposed as President of the Association for a continuous thirteen years. He made references to some projects their Association had executed under the good work by the President with the most recent one just published in the GHANABA NEWS magazine in Belgium. (Ref. 2005 vol.10,no.1) where the Association has adopted the 'Children of House Three' of the SOS Children's Home at Akim Asiakwa in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He said the adoptation means the Association in Belgium shall make contributions to meet the educational and other logistical needs of the children in their dormitories. The Association has commenced this support with a cash donation of 1,000 euros (12 million cedis) for the year 2005.This donation was presented to the House Mistress on the 20th January 2005 at Akim Asiakwa by Madam Comfort Adjubi, an executive member of the Association as quoted from the magazine. The Association presented gifts to the President for his loyalty and handwork when it comes to Community services alike.
Mrs.Tuffour Peprah thanked God for blessing her life with such a wonderful man. Having been married to one and only husband for thirty eight years, they have also been blessed with four daughters with two of them having made it to the Universities in Belgium. The family has been living in Belgium for over twenty eight years she said. With the most senior daughter winning a Ghana Airways Award, as one of 'the Best behaved children?, which was presented by His Excellency Mr. Kobbina Wudu, Ghana Ambassador to Belgium at a GHANABA end of year party in 2003. She has nothing to offer than to renew her marriage vows with her husband at a date to be announced very soon she concluded. Surrounded by her three Sisters who attended the party from different parts of Europe, they gave a helping hand to 'their' husband to cut through his birthday cake.
Three of Mr.Tuffour Peprah's siblings travelled from UK with their husbands and kids to join the one who lives in Brussels to wish their brother a happy birthday. They also commended their big Brother for been a role Model to their family and asked the Lord to give him a healthy long life.They said, their Aged Mother in Ghana always advises them to take their senior Brother as their father, now that their old man had passed away, and also keep together to build another strong generation of their family.
The surprise and emotional occasion came when a girl of eighteen years, next, took the microphone and asked those present to join her to express sincere thanks and a happy birthday to Mr. Tuffour Peprah. "He was my Godfather at my birth, when I watched my birth video cassette and has always been my Godfather since then?, said the young girl who also presented a second birthday cake to support this occasion.
Expressions on the faces by the four daughters of Mr. Tuffour Peprah could not be described until they joined together to sing 'happy birthday to you Dad?. As a Christian family who worships at the Holy Trinity Cathedral they were joined by some members from the Church.
The evening was also attended by Ghanaian Pastors, Vice President of GHANABA, Mr. Martin Fumey, Various Association Leaders, Kings and Queens, Businessmen and Women.
Various typical Ghanaian dishes were served at the party.
