Let us recall that in October 2014, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana in the Russian Federation and Newly Independent States Mr. Kodzo Alabo visited Kalashnikov ISTU and during the negotiations with the university administration, he discussed the possibility of Ghanaian students to come to Kalashnikov ISTU to study.

The aim of Mr. Atsu Kpewu’s visit was to negotiate the recruitment of students from Ghana to our university. By the way, Mr. Atsu Kpewu came from Accra, the capital of the Republic of Ghana, the biggest cultural and industrial center of the country, its population is 4 million people and it is very young – half of its residents are younger than 24 years old.

Mr. Atsu Kpewu had a tour of the university: he saw classrooms in different buildings, laboratories and business incubator, shared research center, Institute of Translators, dormitories of the university and research library. Also, he had a meeting with Prof. Alexey Schenyatsky, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Marketing, who presented the department and courses of the faculty.

During the meeting with Prof. Boris Yakimovich, Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU, Mr. Atsu Kpewu shared his impressions about the university: “... this is a very good university. Everywhere I went yesterday had a possibility to make sure that you have all necessary equipment to teach and train students. And, what is very important, students have a possibility to put information obtained into practice in laboratories – I liked it very much. I am sure that when I am back in Ghana, I will share my good experience about Izhevsk and your university. I hope that I will find students, who will come here for getting education...”

As a result, Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU and CEO of East Star SAK Consultancy Services signed the contract on recruitment of Ghanaian students, who will first learn Russian at our university and afterwards study on different undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Also, Mr. Atsu Kpewu was given the certificate of the university administration indicating his representation of Kalashnikov ISTU in Ghana.
