Agona Swedru, April 5, GNA- The Agona Swedru Police have arrested Mr Nicholas Appiah, a Ghanaian based in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, for assaulting a Swedru-based cameraman of TV3, a private television station.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) BB Bakomora, the Agona District Police Commander who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Swedru said Mr Eric Sam, the cameraman, who was covering a clean up exercise being organised by members of local Assemblies of God Church, was attacked when he allegedly asked Mr Appiah to stop littering the environment.
DSP Bakomora said Mr Appiah who was on board a vehicle threw rubbish at a spot at the Swedru Chapel Square where members of the church had already swept.
He said Mr Appiah would soon be put before court. During the clean up exercise members of the church, desilted choked gutters, and cleared weeds around the Swedru Police Station, Lorry Parks, and the major streets in the township, as part of the 75th Anniversary celebration of the Church.
