THE AFRICAN EXPERIENCE FESTIVAL, AUGUST 6, 2011 IN ATL, GA*



*ATLANTA, July 14, 2011 – *TAEF celebrates African diversity and culture
through: fashion, music, sports, film, dance, visual arts, and children’s
programs. On Saturday August 6, 2011*, *Atlanta will be introduced to an
African festival like no other with an exciting lineup of performances,
games, language classes and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy.



Some of the features planned are:

o *Speak Africa!:* As part of The African Experience, visitors will be able
to sign up for one of three language classes scheduled. Lessons will provide
a choice of Nigerian: Yoruba or Igbo, Ghanaian: Twi, or Gambian languages to
choose from. Visitors will leave the session with the basics in greeting,
counting, and introductions needed to communicate.



o *All Nations Mini Soccer Tournament: * Africa’s number one sport is
soccer. This festival brings together the different African nationality
association FC in Atlanta to play a 5-a-side friendly match. Which country
will win TAEF all nations cup? Find out at the event.



o *Africa Market Place:* TAEF presents visitors with opportunities to
explore mouth watering African food from our variety of catering vendors. In
addition, there will be business vendors proudly exhibiting their products -
beads, arts & crafts, paintings, hair and beauty and business services. Be
inspired by an array of entrepreneurs.

o *Games Corner: * From learning to play drums, table tennis, face
painting and board games, there will be a selection of games to choose from
and provide enjoyment for the little kids and the big ones too.

o *Live Performances: * Africans love to celebrate through dancing, music
and laughter. TAEF performers will serenade the audience with traditional,
modern and classic songs, dance moves and talents. Come enjoy the dance
skills visible in the Makosa dancers, Ashanti dance group and harmonious
vocals, as songs are rendered in local dialects. Get your cameras ready, for
special guest appearances by celebrity artists from Africa.

o *All African Fashion Show: * Get ready to be dazzled with A cultural
showcase of colorful clothing, material and beauty, as the models parade
couture designer wear and traditional African attires at this fashion show.

o *Film Show: * The festival ends with an African movie at sun down. This,
and all the above listed features are reasons why you do not want to miss
