Wake Up Our Fellow Brothers And Sistersr--NDC-Chicago

, We Need Peace Not Wa

“Those who make peaceful situations impossible will eventually make a violent one inevitable”…..JFK.

After many years of turmoil in our dear country, the great Lord finally turned his eyes on Ghana and finally opened our eyes to a great thing called Democracy-Defined as a government by the people, of the people and for the people.

For many years now, Ghana has become the envy of Sub-Sahara Africa for the simple reason that our democratic dispensation is on track and working. The road to this enviable achievement has not been easy, in fact it has been very rocky and rough and we regret to agree that, a lot of blood, sweat and tears were lost through this journey. That is why it is imperative that we guard and protect this gift with all our might.

We all agree that, tensions have been very high in Ghana of late, as we prepare ourselves for the up-coming general elections and it is by no means impossible to occasionally hear accusations and counter- accusations from the two main political parties. In situations like these, one may encounter occasional jeering and finger pointing from each other but we need to set a limit to these encounters.

Last Friday morning should be remembered as one of the dark days of our country and must be condemned to the utmost level. We woke up to the occasional ranting and ravings of Kennedy Ohene-Agyapong –the self proclaimed media mogul of Ghana declaring war on our dear country, insulting the President of our country, declaring war on Ghana and most damning of all, inciting appalling atrocities against Gas and Ewes in Ashanti region.

Our question is, is destroying all that we have achieved throughout the years worth this?

Our democracy, though not perfect, is making advances towards betterment by the day so when one individual thumps up his chest and declares war on Ghana and then dares the leaders of our security services to arrest him if they have the “balls” shows that if this goes unanswered, it will spell doom indeed for our democracy.

Mr. Agyepong in the past has made so many unpalatable, abrasive and dangerous utterances and has gone free because the leadership of our country believe in peace but there needs to be a limit to how far he can go with his unacceptable attitude. In fact in the past, this firebrand has called for the total extermination of former President Jerry Rawlings and his family-No action was taken against him.

Just recently at Mantse Agbona, Ken declared war on the Security personnel of our country, declaring that, they will be lynched if the police doesn’t allow the NPP to carry their all-die-be die attack on the good citizen of Ghana- No action was taken against him.

This has given him the power to do and say anything he wishes without repercussions. Such attitude should not be tolerated and must be condemned by all Ghanaians. It is bad for the people and it is bad for our young democracy which is at its neo-natal stage.

Of course a deranged mind will have his support from some people who will justify such atrocious comments with warped reasoning.

According to the Chicago of the NPP, the total breakdown of communication which has resulted in chaos and violence was started by NDC “thugs” when Ursula “vuvuzella” Owusu got manhandled at the Odododioho constituency. What chapter failed to inform their readers is that, a week prior to the Odododioho incident, NPP hoodlums had gone on rampage and beaten up Ms Cecilia Yeboah NDC- women organizer for Nkoranza North in the Brong- Ahafo region. As we speak, Ms Yeboah is recuperating from her injuries after her discharge form Duayaw Nkwanta hospital.

A few days ago, people who were trying to register at the Okere constituency in Akwapim were beaten by agents of Dan Botwe – MP for the area. Had it not been the quick intervention of the District Chief Executive Mr. Opare-Addo, disaster would have prevailed. With this said, why target ewes if not for the fact that NPP and its agent Kennedy Agyapond just have an unquenching bigotry for our ewe brothers and sisters. Conventional wisdom teaches us that two wrongs don’t make a right and therefore will not justify Kennedy Agyepong’s call for war.NPP –Chicago and the rest of the finger pointers should be made to understand this and condemn the whole unfortunate incident. Not justify and defend it. We have travelled too far to subject ourselves to this kind of mishap.

A similar incident happened in not too far Rwanda not too long ago when one tribe called for the total extinction of another tribe and before the rest of the world became aware, 800,000 innocent lives had been lost. Hacked to death by unruly and tribalistic imbeciles because of their tribal persuasions. Just like what MP Kennedy Agyapong is calling for. Fellow Ghanaians, is this what our politics has reduced us to? Do we have to pursue the barbaric path of the Hutus and hack Gas and Ewes to death with knives and machetes just like Dishonorable Kennedy Agyapong is advocating?

Has our politics reached a level where we should start killing each other just because of our political divide?

We believe we should all “MAN-UP” and in unison, condemn Kennedy Ohene- Agyapong for his atrocious comments. We should also “MAN-UP” and call for the revocation of the licenses of both Oman-FM and Net-2 Television stations because these are the tools he used to spread his abominable and despicable message.

Dishonorable Kennedy Agyepong is most definitely guilty of treason and should be made to accept the consequences.

Ghana is a peaceful Nation and whoever threatens our peace of mind should be made accountable. People; refuse tribalism because it is the cancer that is threatening to eat us alive.

We leave you with the very first version of our National anthem which was discarded before the current one. Listen to the words, digest it and stand proud as a Ghanaian. God bless us all.

Lord God our father we pray thee Be thou our guide in all our ways, May we united together proclaim the dawn of our new day! Children of Ghana arise and uphold your cause And blaze the trail of freedom far and wide, O God our father harken to our call And bring us peace here in our father land. Source:
