All people of African origin in the capital of the United States, Washington, DC will be gathering from September, 20-22 this year as part of a grand celebration of African culture for the first edition of the ‘Made in Africa Experience’ in the United States (US).
The 3-day ‘Made In Africa Experience’ event according to organizers is the premier celebration of everything African-infused, from Afro-beats to food. Apart from this, there will also be a showcase of technology, startups, fashion, arts, film, and sports in the Diaspora.
“It further offers a great opportunity for Africans outside North America to see how those in the diaspora are connecting. These connections cement how they celebrate Africans all over while creating networking opportunities that benefit players in Africa too. We are helping create a conducive environment that provides for the transfer of ideas because Africans everywhere working with those on the continent is what will give rise to a united Africa,” said Oral Ofori, a media partner for the event.
“With over 10,000 rich African cultures expected to be in attendance, activities lined up for the first day of the celebrations are ‘The Tech Conference’ and ‘Cocktail Gala’. Day 2 will feature a ‘Live Music Festival’ in the morning and the evening will be booming with an after-party,” said one of the event’s organizers who went on to disclose that other organizing partners of the event include I/O Digital Studios in Silver Spring – Maryland, Seven Hills Group, and Tag Soundz all in the US.
On the 3rd day, a special ‘Celebrity Ball Game‘ has been lined up in the morning which will go on till the evening to make way for the ‘Bar Crawl Day Party’ late into the night.
I/O Digital Studios is the creative arm of I/O Spaces, creators of this event. They are a creative and collaborative innovative space located in Maryland. It seeks to foster the growth of local start-ups and small businesses while connecting Africans all over.
