2024 Election: Mahama reacts to #8 ballot paper position

The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama, has reacted to the outcome of the balloting for the 2024 presidential election.

Mahama drew the number 8 slot on the ballot paper for the 2024 presidential election at the balloting conducted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana in Accra, on Friday, September 20, 2024.

Reacting to this in a post shared on Facebook on September 21, 2024, the NDC presidential candidate indicated that he was thrilled with his position on the ballot paper for the 2024 election.

He said that the number should represent the hope of the people of Ghana and urged them to vote massively for him come December 7, 2024.

"I am excited that we picked No. 8 on the ballot for the upcoming presidential elections. Let’s make this a number of hope and change on 7th December," the former President wrote.



About the balloting:

The Electoral Commission on Friday, September 20, 2024, held a balloting event for the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Dr. Bawumia, following the process, placed first on the ballot, while his main contender, former President John Dramani Mahama of the opposition National Democratic Congress, placed 8th.

Kofi Akpaloo - Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) - #5

Mohammed Frimpong - National Democratic Party (NDP) - #6

Nana Akosua Frimpomaa - Convention People’s Party (CPP) - #7

John Dramani Mahama - National Democratic Congress (NDC) - #8

Hassan Abdulai Ayariga - All People’s Congress (APC) - #9

Kofi Korateng - Independent Candidate - #10

George Twum-Barima-Adu - Independent Candidate - #11
