President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has criticised the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, for lacking significant achievements, claiming that his only legacy is the dumsor power crisis.
According to him, John Dramani Mahama's record is poor, and a person with such a legacy should not be given another chance to lead the country back into a power crisis.
While addressing a small crowd of party supporters during his campaign tour in the Northern Region, President Akufo-Addo stressed the importance of Ghanaian voters choosing a credible candidate who will move the country forward and enhance its fortunes, rather than selecting someone who would lead the country backward and cause regression.
He asserted that the country’s past leaders are often remembered for their legacy social intervention projects, but the same cannot be said about John Mahama’s administration as president.
“When you mention the name of JJ Rawlings, District Assemblies come to mind, When you mention the name of John Agyekum Kufuor, National Health Insurance Scheme comes to mind. When you mention Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Free SHS comes to mind but when you mention John Mahama, dumsor is all we hear. We want somebody who is going to take our country forward and not backward,” he said.
