Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the Special Aide to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has criticised President Akufo-Addo's recent remarks made during his visit to the Upper East Region, myjoyoline.com has reported.

The Special Aide described the president’s comments as “utterly mind-boggling.”

She contended that the president’s comments disclose an important disconnection from the realities facing Ghanaians, particularly those in northern Ghana.

During the president’s speech, he criticised John Dramani Mahama and advised voters to vote for Bawumia as the best candidate suitable to continue the progress of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The president also suggested that the NDC’s ballot position, number 8 will not be favorable in the forth coming general elections.

However, in a post shared on X on October 3, Joyce Bawah highlighted the severe challenges facing citizens in the Upper East Region such as economic hardships and inadequate infrastructure, starkly contrast with the president’s overly optimistic remarks.

She argued that the president’s failure to acknowledge these pressing issues shows lack of understanding and empathy for the everyday struggles of the ordinary Ghanaian.

Joyce Bawah further criticised the president's approach, stating that real leadership should focus on addressing the concerns of the people.

She called for a more compassionate and responsive government that actively listens to citizens and works to find solutions to their challenges, rather than making remarks that don't resonate with the live experiences of Ghanaians.

As the general elections draw closer, she advised the public to recognise the need for a change in leadership asserting that an NDC government will prioritise the well-being of all citizens ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs met.

"Yesterday I heard President Akufo-Addo speaking in the Upper East Region and his utterances were utterly mind-boggling, NPP is clearly out of touch and out of sync, it is time to vote them out! #Ghana is not a family heirloom," she posted X.
