Hopeson Adorye, a leading member of the Movement of Change, has asserted that balloting for the 2024 presidential election was orchestrated by God.

According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) drawing the number 8 position on the ballot paper means that they would end the 8 years of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.

Adorye, who made these remarks in a viral video of his reaction to the balloting on Friday, September 21, 2024, added that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) picking the number 1 spot on the ballot paper shows that they are going to lose the pending December 7, 2024, polls.

He said that just as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo lost the 2008 election after drawing the number 1 spot on the ballot paper after taking over from former President John Agyekum Kufuor, the NPP flagbearer taking over from Akufo-Addo, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has also drawn the number 1 spot and is going to suffer the same fate.

The NPP turned Movement for Change leading member added that just as Kufuor won the 2000 election after drawing the last spot on the ballot paper, his candidate, Alan Kyerematen, is also going to win 2024 polls after picking the number 13 position - the last position on the 2024 presidential election ballot paper.

“The NPP said they are breaking the 8 and the NDC took the 8 position (on the ballot). This means that they are ending the 8. Their 8 has been thrown away.

“NPP has picked the number 1 spot. When Kufuor handed over to Akufo-Addo, he took the number 1 position on the ballot and lost the election. Akufo-Addo is finishing his term, and he has handed it over to Bawumia, who has also picked the number 1 slot. He (Bawumia) would also lose.

He added, “Just as God gave Kufuor the last spot and he got the victory for the entire world to be happy, today, the Holy Spirit guided Ohene Ntow to pick the same spot for Alan. Ghanaians, we are going ‘Asie hoo’ – God’s hand is in this.”
