Aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akuapem-South Constituency, Eric Appeadu Yeboah, has said the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government has done enough in the constituency to get another opportunity to lead the country.

Eric Appeadu Yeboah, speaking to the press at Aburi at the party's office, expressed confidence that the government’s excellent performance over the past eight years will ultimately ensure its victory in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in December.

Speaking during the filing of his nominations at Aburi, he asserted that the excellent performance of the party was enough to secure the party a resounding victory.

He said, “The elections shouldn’t be difficult for us due to the good works of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and we need to mobilize enough votes for Dr. Bawumia.”

The Akuapem-South parliamentary candidate officially submitted his nomination forms at the party's office at Aburi in the Eastern Region.

The forms were received by the Returning Officer, Mohammed Fuseini, on behalf of the Electoral Commission.

The successful filing and submission of the forms mark a significant milestone in the aspiring legislator's journey toward the august house of Parliament on the ticket of Akuapem South.

The parliamentary hopeful added that aside from the massive development undertaken by the party, the NPP’s reliable manifesto is a game changer for the future and charged supporters of the party to sell the message to the people.

Mr. Appeadu expressed his gratitude to the rank and file of the party for giving him the opportunity to lead the NPP’s parliamentary bid in the constituency and appealed to all and sundry to intensify the presidential and parliamentary campaigns ahead of the elections to ensure a one-touch victory for the party’s flagbearer and parliamentary candidates.

According to the PC, ensuring the party’s victory shouldn’t be the responsibility of just the party executives but of the rank and file of the NPP, adding that the party must record a resounding victory on December 7, 2024.

Charging the party faithful to commit themselves to the NPP’s campaign ahead of the elections, he said, “Everyone must get involved; this year’s campaign is door to door, house to house, room to room.”

While expressing confidence that the party had undertaken massive development in Akuapem-South to record a massive victory, he noted that the party won’t be complacent in its approach toward the elections despite the seat being a safe one for the NPP.

Outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem-South, Mr. O.B. Amoah who accompanied his potential successor to file his nomination observed that the candidate’s dedication and commitment to the party throughout his political career as a constituency youth organizer and secretary positions him as an ideal candidate to succeed him.

According to him, the parliamentary candidate is skilled enough to hold the position.

He was optimistic that Mr. Appeadu would build upon his 11,000-vote victory margin recorded in the 2020 parliamentary elections, adding that the parliamentary candidate would retain the Akuapem-South Constituency seat with a massive gap with the flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, also winning the presidential elections.
