Dr. Peter Boamah Otukunor, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 Manifesto Planning Committee, is accusing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of undermining the Electoral Commission (EC), which is supposed to be an independent body.

During a phone interview on Okay FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Dr. Otukunor emphasized that the opposition party, NDC, has lost hope in the Electoral Commission due to recent events.

He stated that the institution has lost its integrity and trust, adding that it appears the commission has sided with the NPP and is working against the NDC.

“The reason why we don’t have hope in the electoral management called the Electoral Commission is because the government led by President Akufo-Addo has undermined the Electoral Commission, which is supposed to be an independent body that runs the elections.”

“So there’s no confidence, there is no integrity, nobody believes in the Electoral Commission. If we don’t have confidence in the EC, it affects everything, from beginning to end,” he bemoaned.
