Former Minister of Education under the erstwhile John Agyekum Kufuor administration, Professor Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi has intensified his campaigns in the Bono East Region with a call on polling station executives to vote for only New Patriotic Party(NPP) candidates.

He kicked against the idea of party executives and members voting for any other including Independent Parliamentary Candidates; underscoring the need for them to turn out and vote for the party’s flagbearer and parliamentary candidates.

At a meeting with Constituency and polling station executives over the weekend, he appealed to party faithful to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and their respective NPP parliamentary candidates across the country and not independent candidates.

He made this appeal at Karanka, in the Nkoranza North Constituency in the Bono East Region, and encouraged them to intensify their house-to-house campaign.

“You have a duty to campaign and subsequently vote for the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as well as the respective NPP parliamentary candidates in your constituencies. Let us not nurture any idea of a skirt and blouse voting for it would not be in the interest of the party. I am optimistic of the party’s victory and want us to all win together”, he urged.

The Current Board Chair for Public Procurement Authority continued to charge the executives to appeal to all NPP members to eschew apathy and urged them to go out in their numbers to vote on election day.

The former Minister for Ports, Harbors and Railways, stressed on the need for constituency executives and polling station officers to lead the campaign in the community since they live with the people in their various homes.

On his campaign which began a week ago, he donated an undisclosed amount of money to support the work of the polling station executives.

At the weekend’s meeting were Chairman Thomas Adu Appiah former Bono East Regional Chairman, Hon. Peter Mensah former DCE for Techiman North, Mr. Peter Osei-Fosu the District Chief Executive, Jackling Boatemaa Bonsu Parliamentary Candidate and some other party activists.
