An aspiring Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party in the Oti Region, Collins Ahenkorah Castro, is promising to win 3 more parliamentary seats for the party if given the node.
Mr Ahenkorah who is the immediate past Chairman of the Krachi East NPP indicated he is ‘well baked’ for the position considering expertise he gathered serving the party over the years.
“I was instrumental in wrestling the Krachi East parliamentary seat from the NDC. And I am very optimistic I will win additional 3 seats to make it 4 if I am voted the Oti Regional NPP Chairman”, he said in interview with Ghanaweb.com.
“I have already given motorbikes and vehicles to some constituency offices. I will ensure the party functionaries and all Constituency offices are resourced to enable them to do their work, because we need to be well resourced to win the seats”, he added.
Mr Ahenkorah will be contesting Dapaah Y. Evans, Stephen Alewaba and David Tibrum Makanyi, who promised to put all regional and constituency executives on allowances to motivate them deliver effectively on their mandates.
Albert Kwaku Bediako, William Kwasi Agyei, Jane Kwame Asante and Former Volta Region NPP Deputy Secretary, Joshua Makubu are contesting for the Regional Secretary position.
A Former Nkwanta South Women’s Organizer and Deputy Volta Region Women’s Organiser, Olivia Yawa Aglago, believes she is the most suitable candidate to occupy the Regional Women Organiser position, considering expertise she has gathered over the years.
“ I served as the Nkwanta South Women’s Organiser prior to the 2016 elections where NPP saw an increase in votes in the Volta Region,” she added.
She, therefore, called on delegates to consider her experience and vote for her as the regional women's organiser to contribute increase electoral fortunes of the NPP in the Oti Region in 2020.
Samuel Addo Gyamfi, an educationist, assured to deliver 6 six parliamentary seats for the governing NPP in Oti, should he be voted as the Regional Organiser by the delegates.
A total of 31 candidates have been cleared to contest the various regional executive positions.
136 delegates are expected to cast ballots after the Party's Extraordinary Delegates Conference, which comes off later today Saturday May 18 at the Dambai College of Education.
