A Deputy National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Osman Ayariga, has accused President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of being synonymous with corruption.

In a video shared by Channel One TV on Thursday, October 17, 2024, he contrasted Akufo Addo's presidency with that of the Flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, stating that the latter solved the power crisis (dumsor) during his tenure.

He remarked, "John Dramani Mahama is noted for fixing dumsor. Akufo-Addo is known for corruption. Coming here, I thought Nana-Addo had stopped talking, only for me to hear that he said that whenever they mention Mahama's name, dumsor comes to mind.

"I said, Nana Addo, is it where you want to go? At least Mahama fixed dumsor. When they mention Nana Addo's name, do you know what comes to mind? Corruption everywhere. When they mention Nana Addo's name, do you know what comes to mind? Scamming everywhere," he stated.

He further alleged that various flagship programmes by the Akufo-Addo-led government, including One Village, One Dam, and the National Cathedral, were marred by corruption scandals.

"One Village, One Dam is a scam; National Cathedral scam. Nana Addo has scammed Ghanaians. Everywhere you go, scam.

"After scamming Ghanaians, he wasn't satisfied; he has gone to scam God on top. He went to deceive God that he wants to build a National Cathedral. Till today, it is the biggest hole you can find in the whole world. All of us here can go and swim in that hole," he stated.

The NDC has constantly criticised Akufo-Addo for being indifferent to corruption-related activities under his administration.
