Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, has narrated a past incident that happened between him and artiste turned-pastor, Lord Kenya.
In an interview on Adom TV shared on November 23, 2024, Okraku-Mantey noted that Lord Kenya is on a list of artistes he regrets working with.
He emphasized that the artiste publicly tarnished his hard-earned reputation.
"A lot of artistes in the country have hurt me bitterly but the one I can't easily forget was Lord Kenya's. I took him like a brother, we even slept in the same room those days... He has apologized to me before on radio so I don't want to go deep into it but he tarnished my reputation to the point where people would approach me in Kumasi and say so you are the one cheating the musicians," he said.
He also noted how late Daasebre Gyamenah appreciated his efforts when he received an award, even though they were at loggerheads.
"In as much as Daasebre Gyamenah was not talking to me, he took an award and while on stage thanked me for my effort. He even went on Joy FM some days later and repeated the same thing. But Lord Kenya took an award on the same night and thanked his mother and father, meanwhile, the song that won the award was programmed by me. He was not there even when we were creating the beat," he added.
