Leader of the Common Sense Family, Avram Ben Moshe, has alleged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was behind the #FixTheCountry demonstration that took place in the country.
In a conversation on the 'Julius Time podcast on November 29, 2024, Avram Moshe claimed that the NDC supported the protesters by providing materials for the demonstration.
"When we first organised the #FixTheCountry demonstration, the NDC was behind it. Kofi Koranteng came to speak at the event, but we didn't allow him to take the stage because we didn't want to create the wrong impression. However, they were the ones who provided T-shirts, brass bands, and many other items," he said.
He also noted that the galamsey protests, in particular, began around the time the country entered an election year, stating that both the NDC and NPP are involved in illegal mining activities.
"The galamsey protests started just when we entered the election year. But if you look closely, the NDC and NPP are both involved in galamsey. People who are closer to politicians know what's happening behind the scenes, and there are certain things that only insiders would understand. So, trust me when I say the NDC was behind the protest," he said.
Avram, who has ditched the two main political parties and publicly expressed his support for independent presidential candidate Nana Kwame Bediako (Cheddar), also pointed out that protests do not easily sway politicians.
"The only thing a politician won't listen to is your demonstration. The only thing that scares them is voting against them. You can't organise a demonstration that has more impact than what Akufo-Addo himself has faced," he added.
